Carried by the I AM
Isaiah 46:3-7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Isaiah 46 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
God promises to sustain and carry the house of Jacob from birth to old age; the idols they rely on cannot save or move. True worship arises from recognizing the I AM within, not external forms.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within Isaiah 46:3-7, the Father is not distant but the I AM present in your own consciousness. The lines 'borne by me from the belly... carried from the womb' describe how you are already carried by awareness from the moment you begin to think. The call 'to whom will ye liken me' exposes idolatries—gold, silver, and engineered gods—that promise security while remaining mute and useless in trouble. In Neville's terms, these movements of attachment reveal a misalignment of consciousness: you are looking for power outside yourself when the true power dwells as your own awareness, the I AM that bears, holds, and delivers. The baby, the aged, the whole arc of life, are all held by the same presence; nothing external can add or subtract from your life except your sense of who you are. When you revise your identity to: 'I am the I AM, carried by the I AM within,' fear dissolves, and decisive action emerges from inner peace. The invitation is to practice a daily recognition that your sustenance and salvation come by the inner moving force you already possess, not by objects or rituals you worship.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Close your eyes and assume 'I am the I AM, carried by the I AM within' and feel the steady support; hold that feeling until it feels real, then return to daily life.
