Called By Thy Inner Name

Isaiah 45:4 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Isaiah 45 in context

Scripture Focus

4For Jacob my servant's sake, and Israel mine elect, I have even called thee by thy name: I have surnamed thee, though thou hast not known me.
Isaiah 45:4

Biblical Context

God names Jacob/Israel as His servant and elect, calling them into a divine mission that exists before they even know Him; the verse points to an inner identity and purpose rooted in the I AM.

Neville's Inner Vision

In the inner economy of your mind, Jacob is your servant-state and Israel your elect-identity. God’s choice and naming do not depend on your memory of Him; they precede your knowledge, standing as the I AM’s quiet fact within you. When the Bible says I have surnamed thee, it means that your true self carries a divine surname—the name by which awareness recognizes itself as the creative power. You are not asked to earn this; you are asked to awaken to it. The call to be named by God is a call to live from the state that already exists within, to align thought, feeling, and deed with that sacred identity. In practice, you may feel that you are being drawn to witness, to serve, and to manifest in harmony with a higher order, simply because the inner governor has chosen you and given you your name. Your ignorance of God does not impede His knowing of you; your present moment is the doorway into that reality.

Practice This Now

Sit in quiet and declare I am named by the I AM, I am Jacob/Israel in truth, called to serve. Then feel the reality of that identity now, letting it guide every choice.
