Emmanuel Amid the Waters

Isaiah 43:2 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Isaiah 43 in context

Scripture Focus

2When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
Isaiah 43:2

Biblical Context

God promises to be with you through waters, rivers, and fire, guarding you from overwhelm.

Neville's Inner Vision

Imagine the waters and fire as currents in your own consciousness. The verse speaks to your I AM—the untroubled awareness you are. When you pass through waters, you are passing through a state of belief; God says I will be with thee, so your awareness remains steady regardless of what seems to oppose you. The river shall not overflow thee; the fire shall not burn. This is not external safety alone; it is the inner guarantee that you, as consciousness, refuse to be overwhelmed by any movement within. The moment you accept that you are the I AM, you revise the event; prior conditions do not alter your innate presence. As you dwell in that awareness, fear dissolves, and the troubled waters become navigable; the danger of the flame loses its sting because you do not identify with the flame. You are the witness, and God is the I AM guiding you through.

Practice This Now

Assume right now that you are the I AM present with you in every water and flame; feel the steadiness, and imagine the scene of safe passage as your awareness remains unburned.
