Isaiah 43:16-17 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Isaiah 43 in context

Scripture Focus

16Thus saith the LORD, which maketh a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters;
17Which bringeth forth the chariot and horse, the army and the power; they shall lie down together, they shall not rise: they are extinct, they are quenched as tow.
Isaiah 43:16-17

Biblical Context

God makes a way in the sea and a path in the waters, and the formidable powers behind them are rendered powerless and vanish.

Neville's Inner Vision

Your greatest exodus is not a historical event but a shift in consciousness. The LORD who parts seas is the I AM you become aware of as you claim your end already achieved. The waters and the chariots symbolize sturdy beliefs, fears, and habits that seem to govern your life. When you dwell in the awareness of your own unity with the I AM, those powers cease to threaten; they lie down together and do not rise because their life is your belief. The phrase 'they are extinct, they are quenched as tow' is not a threat but a promise: once you withdraw belief in limitation, the image dissolves. Deliverance is not a future event but a present-state realization, born of inner vision. As you hold the conviction 'I AM' as your own identity, you create a new path through your sea of mind—an inner road that leads to liberty, irrespective of outward appearances. The oracle of Isaiah is your mental law: imagination creates reality, and your inner state is the architect of your outer world. Practice by returning to the feeling of complete deliverance until it feels permanent.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and imagine you are stepping onto dry ground within your mind, while calmly stating 'I am the way' and 'deliverance is mine.' Feel that liberty now, and let the old fears fade.
