Inner Hearing and Sight
Isaiah 42:18-25 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Isaiah 42 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage depicts a people who are deaf and blind to inner guidance, failing to observe the inner law. Judgment arises from their disobedience, while a call to listen and restore remains.
Neville's Inner Vision
Beloved, hear these words as not a history but a map of your inner state. The 'servant' and the 'messenger' are your present states of consciousness—your ability to perceive and obey. When you say you see many things, yet observe not, you reveal the habit of intellectual sight without inner conviction. The law is not a harsh external code; it is the inner order magnified by attention. The Lord is well pleased with righteousness, for when you align with this inner law, you dignify right action and bring your life into harmony. The captivity and bondage spoken of become mental sensibilities, holes opened through fear, prisons built by habit. The restoration must begin in your imagination: forgive, revise, restore, declare, 'I am free in the inner law.' The fury poured on him shall burn away what you believed about separation when you acknowledge the unity of I AM with all.
Practice This Now
Take 5 minutes now: close your eyes, breathe, and declare: 'I am the I AM. I hear and observe from within; I revise my state to the perfect servant of the inner law; feel the restoration now.'
