Inner Unity From Isaiah 41:5-7

Isaiah 41:5-7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Isaiah 41 in context

Scripture Focus

5The isles saw it, and feared; the ends of the earth were afraid, drew near, and came.
6They helped every one his neighbour; and every one said to his brother, Be of good courage.
7So the carpenter encouraged the goldsmith, and he that smootheth with the hammer him that smote the anvil, saying, It is ready for the sodering: and he fastened it with nails, that it should not be moved.
Isaiah 41:5-7

Biblical Context

Fear and distance appear, then neighbors join and encourage one another. Together, the craftsman-like faculties bind what fears cannot move.

Neville's Inner Vision

Here the outward scene is only a mirror of inner states. The isles and the ends of the earth are thoughts of distance and threat within my own consciousness; when I identify with fear, the whole texture of life trembles. Yet the moment I remember that I am the I AM, that imagination is the power that creates, a different mood can rise. The people who came near and spoke to one another are my inner allies—voices of courage in me who remind me that no part of me is abandoned. The carpenter and the goldsmith, the hammer and the anvil, are facets of my own craft of belief; when they speak, they declare, ‘it is ready for the soldering’ and fasten me to a truth that cannot fail. I see that unity is born not of externals but of a decision to hold a bond of purpose. Once I imagine the bond as already in place, fear dissolves and the self becomes a single, unmovable structure held together by love and resolve.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Sit in quietude and assume you are already unified; envision the carpenter and smith at work within you, binding every part. Say softly, 'It is ready for the soldering,' and feel the certainty of a steadfast, unmovable self.
