Inner Rivers of Renewal

Isaiah 41:17-18 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Isaiah 41 in context

Scripture Focus

17When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I the LORD will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them.
18I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys: I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.
Isaiah 41:17-18

Biblical Context

The thirsty and needy are heard by the LORD, who will not forsake them. He promises to turn barren places into waters and springs, showing that inner provision follows inner faith.

Neville's Inner Vision

Isaiah speaks to the inner poor and thirsty, but in the practical sense the 'water' is your own awareness. When the mind feels nothing but lack, the I AM, that indwelling God, hears and does not forsake. Your present reality is not the external drought, but the state you identify as I AM. In that state you imagine rivers opening in high places and fountains bursting through valleys, and so the dry land of lack becomes a scene of nourishment. This is not magic from without, but a shift of consciousness within: you revise the idea of self from a beggar to a sovereign, and you feel the relief that follows from that change. The more vividly you dwell in the feeling that you are already supplied and cared for, the more the outer conditions align with your inner scene. The Lord’s care becomes your practice of awareness, and renewal flows as surely as springs in the sun.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume the feeling: I am the water of life now. Visualize a river opening on a high place, a fountain arising in the valley, and the wilderness becoming a pool of living water; dwell in this as your present reality.
