Behold Your Inner Shepherd
Isaiah 40:9-11 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Isaiah 40 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Zion and Jerusalem proclaim good tidings as God comes with strength; He is depicted as a shepherd who gathers and gently leads, carrying the young and guiding all with care.
Neville's Inner Vision
Behold your God is not a history lesson but a shift of consciousness. The Lord God coming with strong hand and ruling for him is the movement of your own I AM, the awareness that acts with intention within your life. The arm that rules is the practice of imagination: when you assume a state and persist in it, you empower the ideas and feelings that govern your world. To feed his flock like a shepherd is to nourish the inner states you identify as 'self'—attention, tenderness, courage. Gathering the lambs with his arm and carrying them in his bosom speaks of embracing your vulnerable parts, not judging them, and letting awareness hold them safely. Leading those with young is the patient guidance of new desires and fears into trust in the one Presence that gives order. In this light, Isaiah's words become a manual for inner rule: awaken, stand still in the I AM, and watch your life rearrange under the shepherded care of your God within.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, ascend to the high mountain of awareness, and declare, 'Behold your God within.' Rest in the felt sense of the I AM guiding, feeding, and carrying you.
