Behold Your Inner God

Isaiah 40:9 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Isaiah 40 in context

Scripture Focus

9O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!
Isaiah 40:9

Biblical Context

Zion and Jerusalem are urged to ascend a high place to proclaim good tidings. They are told to lift up their voices and declare Behold Your God to the cities of Judah.

Neville's Inner Vision

Zion and Jerusalem in this verse are not distant places but inner states of consciousness rising within you. The high mountain is the elevated awareness where the inner announcer proclaims Behold Your God—the I AM made present as your own awareness. Lift up thy voice with strength translates to affirming boldly from that state and not letting fear govern you. Address the cities of Judah—the scattered aspects of mind that have believed separation—to witness the truth of God within. When you truly say Behold Your God, you are not appealing to some external power but recognizing that consciousness itself is God in expression. This is the practice: elevate your premise, feel the truth in your chest, and dwell there until the world rearranges to reflect that inner presence. The proclamation is the act of imagination; the response is reality shaped by your assumption. Thus Zion and Jerusalem become one, and your life becomes a demonstration of God's nearness here and now through your own I AM.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: In the next five minutes, close your eyes, ascend to the inner high mountain, and declare Behold Your God with full certainty. Feel the truth as present now, and revise any fear by resting in that assured presence.
