Inner Zion: The One Man
Isaiah 4:1-6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Isaiah 4 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse describes a day when many seek one source of life, the LORD's branch appears glorious, and the survivors are called holy, purified, and protected by God.
Neville's Inner Vision
Notice that the seven women are not enemies but the seven desires of the old self tugging at a single life. In the inner drama, the 'one man' is your I AM—your central awareness—through which you answer to a name not earned by effort, but given by identification. The 'branch of the LORD' becomes the Christ within, beautiful and glorious to the awakened mind; the 'fruit of the earth' speaks of a life that is excellent because it is alive in you who are escaped from the old bondage. Those left in Zion and Jerusalem are called holy—your consciousness that remains in the holy city is purified, written among the living. Purging the filth by the spirit of judgment and burning is the mind's cleansing fire, which you welcome as correction that refines intention. The cloud by day and flaming fire by night are the inner light and presence that shield you, while the tabernacle is the mental shelter you retreat to when heat or storm arise. All this is not outside you but the state you assume in consciousness.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and, in imagination, declare: I am the I AM, the branch of the LORD in me is beautiful and glorious. See a cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night protecting and guiding me; rest in the holy shelter I create in consciousness.
