Inner Reproach Transformed Today

Isaiah 4:1 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Isaiah 4 in context

Scripture Focus

1And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach.
Isaiah 4:1

Biblical Context

This verse depicts a reversal of social shame: seven women seek to be named by one man to remove reproach, symbolizing how identity and dignity are sought from an outer source.

Neville's Inner Vision

Seven aspects of your mind—memory, fear, desire, habit, longing, pride, and attachment—press for a name from the one central consciousness, the inner man. The one man is your innermost I AM, the standing awareness you are always in. When lack or scorn arises, you are not appealing to another; you are forgetting your oneness with God. The 'name' asked for is the recognition that you are eternally called by I AM, that you are the image of the Most High. The seven appeals dissolve when you assume the state that you are already clothed in dignity by virtue of your birth as God's idea. In that state, reproach vanishes, and you are free to live from the bread you imagine and the robes you wear—proof that salvation and redemption begin within as you consciously inhabit the inner kingdom.

Practice This Now

Assume the feeling of being named by your I AM now. Repeat, 'I am called by I AM,' and let that inner dignity settle in your chest; maintain the sense for a minute and watch your sense of self shift.
