Inner Deliverance and Praise
Isaiah 38:17-20 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Isaiah 38 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage shows bitterness becoming peace through God's love and deliverance, while the dead cannot praise truth. The living shall praise, and the Lord is ready to save, inviting continual song in the house of the Lord.
Neville's Inner Vision
I read these lines as the call of my own inner state. I had great bitterness where I believed peace was distant, yet love to my soul delivered me from the pit of corruption. I cast all my sins behind my back—not to evade responsibility but to release my mind from their claim; in that act I awaken to the truth that the I AM within has already cleansed and restored me. The grave cannot praise Thee, death cannot celebrate Thy truth; only the living can know and declare it now, and so I live in the spacious present where truth is alive. The living, the living in me shall praise Thee today, and the Father within me shall make known Thy truth to my inner children. The LORD is ready to save me in this moment; therefore I will sing my songs to the stringed instruments of imagination all the days of my life in the house of the LORD. I am teaching myself that salvation is a state of consciousness I can enter by assumption and feel-realize with every breath.
Practice This Now
Assume the state of the living I AM now—feel the relief as if you are already saved, and revise bitterness into peace while you cast all sins behind your back, then quietly sing your truth in the temple of your mind.
