Living By These Things: An Inner Isaiah
Isaiah 38:16-19 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Isaiah 38 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verses teach that life comes from the inner provisions of God and that restoration results in the living praising truth.
Neville's Inner Vision
All nourishment and life come from the inner state you assume. When Isaiah says by these things men live, Neville would teach that these 'things' are the movements of consciousness—the states you entertain in the I AM. God is awareness, and to be alive is to dwell in a mind that forgives, delivers from the pit of limitation, and speaks truth. The 'pit of corruption' is a belief you cast behind you by refusing to rehearse sin as real. As you align with love, you recover and are made to live in a fresh vitality. The grave cannot praise; death cannot celebrate truth, so life is experienced only by those who live within the truth of being. The line, 'the living, the living, he shall praise thee,' becomes your daily practice: stand in the living presence of God within you and let your words and feelings declare truth to your children, that they too may know thy truth. In this way salvation and redemption are constant inner states, not distant events.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Close your eyes and, within the I AM, assume you are already living, breathing vitality; forgive past sins as you feel the truth of your aliveness, and declare the truth now.
