Inner Kingship: Sennacherib Departed
Isaiah 37:37 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Isaiah 37 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse records the withdrawal of the Assyrian threat as Sennacherib departs for Nineveh. It signals that the danger was a mental construct and can retreat when inner trust in Providence is engaged.
Neville's Inner Vision
Fear is a state of consciousness, and every seeming enemy is but a thought that has come to test your inner sovereignty. In Isaiah 37:37, the external tyrant Sennacherib departs not by swords advancing, but by the inner will of your awareness to remain king. The Assyrian is the voice of limitation—an image in your mind asserting conquest—yet the moment you acknowledge the I AM as ruler, that voice loses its power and returns whence it came, to Nineveh, to its old dream. Nineveh is your inner city of petition and poise; when you keep faith with Providence, your inner city remains defended, and the threat cannot occupy it. The inward king—your God-given consciousness—casts out the fear by the simple act of assuming it is so. This is not history’s weather but your present reality: the withdrawal proves that the world bows to your state of awareness. So, stand unnamed, unnamed by the world, and observe the breach close as your King announces, from within, that all is well.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the feeling of the I AM seated on the throne of your mind. Say softly, The king of Assyria is gone; my inner city stands secure, and the threat has withdrawn. Dwell in that relief until it feels settled.
