Isaiah 35:9-10 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Isaiah 35 in context

Scripture Focus

9No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there:
10And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
Isaiah 35:9-10

Biblical Context

The verse speaks of a future where danger is gone and the redeemed return to Zion with songs, obtaining everlasting joy as sorrow flees. It presents joy as the natural outcome of redemption and inner restoration.

Neville's Inner Vision

This text speaks not of geography but of your inner state. The lion and the ravenous beast symbolize thoughts of fear that vanish when you inhabit the I AM—the aware you. The redeemed are those who awaken to their true being and recognize that Zion is a state of consciousness you carry within. To return to Zion is to re-enter the divine idea of yourself, where you are already whole and free. The ransomed of the LORD are those who have broken identification with limitation and claim their liberty through awareness. As you dwell in this inner Zion, you walk with songs of everlasting joy, a joy that is not earned but remembered as your natural condition. The outer world will reflect this inner conviction; sorrow and sighing dissolve as you persist in the feeling of the wish fulfilled. In short, the end you desire is your starting point when you refuse to entertain anything but the truth of your being.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, breathe deeply, and assume the state: I am the redeemed returning to Zion with everlasting joy. Hold that feeling for several minutes, revising any fear thoughts with this truth, until it becomes your present reality.
