Read Isaiah 33 in context

Scripture Focus

9The earth mourneth and languisheth: Lebanon is ashamed and hewn down: Sharon is like a wilderness; and Bashan and Carmel shake off their fruits.
Isaiah 33:9

Biblical Context

The earth is described as mourning and languishing, with Lebanon humbled and cut down, and Sharon, Bashan, and Carmel barren. This outward desolation points to an inner state of loss and disruption.

Neville's Inner Vision

Consider the earth’s mourning as a sign you can read within. The outer desolation is the echo of an inner agreement with fear, pride, or lack. When Lebanon is embarrassed and cut down, and Sharon becomes a wilderness, it is your mind letting go of old identifications—the sense that you are separate from God, the belief that you must suffer to be proved worthy. Bashan and Carmel fruited strength withdraw their offerings as long as you identify with limitation. The remedy is to remember the I AM; to realize that awareness alone is the cause and the effect. In that recognition, you revise the entire scene by assuming the feeling of the fulfilled state. Put yourself in the mood of already having what you seek, and let your attention rest there, not on the problem. The earth changes because consciousness changes; your inner land becomes fertile again, and the outer landscape follows.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Sit quietly, claim 'I AM' as the only reality, and revise the scene by picturing the land as fertile and whole. Feel the renewal in your chest as you dwell in that consciousness for a few minutes, then carry it into your day.
