Inner Shelter of Sight

Isaiah 32:2-3 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Isaiah 32 in context

Scripture Focus

2And a man shall be as an hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land.
3And the eyes of them that see shall not be dim, and the ears of them that hear shall hearken.
Isaiah 32:2-3

Biblical Context

Isaiah 32:2-3 paints a picture of a man who shelters others from wind and storm. It also promises renewing waters in a dry place and eyes/hears that perceive clearly.

Neville's Inner Vision

In this passage, the 'man' is your state of consciousness—the I AM. When you dwell as the shelter, the external wind of fear loses its power to disturb your inner climate. The 'rivers of water in a dry place' are the living truths your imagination feeds, nourishing perception and renewing you. The 'shadow of a great rock' is the constant presence of God within, a refuge that casts shade over weariness. The promise that 'the eyes of them that see shall not be dim' and 'the ears of them that hear shall hearken' becomes your inner alignment: you perceive and listen not by external circumstance, but by the fidelity of your inner state. Providence and guidance arise from within as natural effects of this inner faith; hope and future unfold as consciousness rests in I AM and allows the world to reconfigure itself to that conviction.

Practice This Now

Practice: Close your eyes and assume I AM as the shelter within. Feel the wind fade and the storm soften; picture rivers of water nourishing your inner landscape; in your next breath, affirm that you see clearly and hear with understanding.
