The mighty man is the bold conviction that you can stand firm in the face of appearances; the man of war is the energy that acts on imagination; the judge, the prophet, the prudent, and the ancient are the discernment, inner guidance, mature wisdom. The captain of fifty, the honourable man, the counsellor, the cunning artificer, and the eloquent orator are the many aspects of your imagination and reasoning collaborating under the ruling I AM. In Neville fashion, you do not change the world by seeking outward power, but by recognizing and elevating these inner rulers, by assuming you already are the sovereign presence that appoints them. When you dwell in the feeling of the I AM, these faculties respond as if summoned to a council, each contributing its gift to your present reality. The verse therefore affirms your accountability: you are not subject to fortune but to the alignment of inner states within the mind’s court. Practice daily revision until this inner government feels natural and alive.
