Inner Marvel, Hidden Wisdom
Isaiah 29:14 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Isaiah 29 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
This verse proclaims that God will do a marvelous work among this people, yet the wisdom of the wise will perish and the understanding of the prudent shall be hid.
Neville's Inner Vision
To Isaiah’s cry I hear my own inward call: this is not history but a map of consciousness. The 'people' are states of mind, and the 'wise men' and 'prudent men' are the conclusions you have trusted from the outer world. When you attend the I AM, the external calculation yields to a deeper sight; the promised 'marvellous work' is the turning of attention from form to feeling, from argument to inner recognition. The perishing of wisdom is not a doom but a purifying wind that clears away habit, so that a new discernment can arise from the stillness. The hidden understanding is the unveiling of an inward logic that does not depend on fact or tradition but on the living presence you imagine and feel. In that inner space, your consciousness becomes the architect of seeing, and what you call 'proof' appears as the world rearranged by your inner conviction.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Assume the I AM is performing the marvelous work now; revise by declaring, 'I am the I AM, and this transformation is now taking place within me.' Feel it as real in your heart and mind until the outer wisdom fades and inner understanding becomes your immediate perception.
