In Neville's terms, the 'LORD' is the I AM within you. The 'spirit of deep sleep' represents a conditioned belief that you are separate from your own truth, and the veiled 'prophets and rulers' are your inner faculties—discernment, imagination, and guidance—silenced by habit and doubt. This sleep is not fate but a choice of consciousness. When you refuse that sleep and claim the awakened state, your inner eyes begin to open. The moment you assume you are already awake, your imagination lights your inner landscape, and previously distant possibilities become present as felt realities. The 'covering' yields to clear perception as you persist in the revision that you are always the I AM, always seeing through the eyes of that awareness. Practice turns doctrine into living experience: you revise, you assume, and you feel the reality of sight becoming your own.
