Inner Steps of Isaiah 28

Isaiah 28:9-10 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Isaiah 28 in context

Scripture Focus

9Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.
10For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:
Isaiah 28:9-10

Biblical Context

Isaiah 28:9-10 says that true instruction comes to those prepared for it—those weaned from milk—through a gradual method: precept upon precept, line upon line. It invites you to expect steady, incremental growth in knowledge, not sudden leaps.

Neville's Inner Vision

Whom shall He teach knowledge? Those who have become weaned from the milk—those whose awareness no longer clings to old, comforting stories. The inner teacher is your I AM, the awareness that you are, and your imagination is the hand that writes doctrine upon the air of your mind. When you are ready, instruction comes as a series of verifiable states, precept upon precept, line upon line. Each inner impression already exists; you simply align with it by a quiet decision, a willingness to revise your sense of self. The law is simple: remember that your inner life is a sequence of tiny, persistent acts; here a little, there a little, you accumulate a new being. Do not seek external proofs; feel the truth internally and let it reform your world. As you persist in imagining yourself already in the desired state, you will notice the outer scene rearranging to reflect what you have assumed.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and imagine one small precept taking form as a bright line in your mind, then dwell with it for a minute until it feels real. Silently revise a single limitation by affirming, I am the I AM; this inner shift is already true within me.
