Inner Threshing, Divine Provision
Isaiah 28:27-28 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage contrasts gentle, measured refinement with harsh threshing; instruments like wheels or carts are unnecessary. It suggests that Providence uses a light, disciplined touch to prepare the bread of daily life.
Neville's Inner Vision
Beloved, the text shows that the threshing of fitches and cummin is done with a staff, not by wheels or horses. This is the way of consciousness. What you call circumstance are inner states of attention—fears, desires, doubts. When you demand external force to grind them away, you bruise the bread of your life; when you accept a quiet, disciplined correction from the I AM within, refinement occurs by gentle, precise movement. The I AM is Providence; it knows exactly what must be touched and what can remain intact. So long as you imagine your life as something to be forcibly shaped by wheel and cart, you suffer bruised results. But when you assume the state that you are already the bread you wish to eat, when you feel the inner staff guiding your every thought, you reduce resistance and allow the harvest to be prepared with grace. The verse invites you to dwell in calm perception: I am the threshing, I am the bread, and I am the Providence moving within me.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit quietly, close your eyes, and assume the state 'I AM Providence refining me now.' Feel the gentle touch of a staff guiding your thoughts; revise any fear with 'I am the bread I eat.' Do this for a few minutes, letting the inner movement do the work.
