Inner Vineyard Transformation
Isaiah 27:1-13 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Isaiah 27 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage speaks of God’s judgment on chaos and idolatry, purging sin, and restoring Israel, so the inner state becomes fruitful and true worship is found within.
Neville's Inner Vision
Is not the day a consciousness that arises in you? In this reading, Leviathan, the piercing serpent, and the dragon are your fixed fears and separations—minor gods of mind you mistake for reality. The sore and strong sword is the keenness of awareness you wield in imagination; when you meet these inner beasts with calm lucidity, they are slain by your attention. 'I the LORD do keep it; I will water it every moment' translates to: you, as the I AM, nurture your inner vineyard with constant, loving attention to truth. There is no fury in your true self; the briars and thorns you once battled dissolve as you insist on being watched over by divine power. If anyone tries to take hold of your strength, you choose peace with yourself and with God. Your trials purify the 'iniquity of Jacob' by dissolving old beliefs, so stone altars crumble and images fall away. The desolate city is the illusion of separation; the trumpet calls you to rise, worship on the inner Mount, and let your heart blossom and bear fruit for all the world.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit quietly and declare, I AM the water of this vineyard; keep this state every moment. Feel the soil, vines, and fruit springing up as fear and old idols fade away.
