Inner Hands That Topple Pride
Isaiah 25:11 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Isaiah 25 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse presents an image of hands spread like a swimmer, symbolizing an inner movement that topples pride. It also shows how the spoils gained by that pride are included in the fall.
Neville's Inner Vision
In your life the outer drama is imagery for an inner state. 'He shall spread forth his hands' is not a man but your I AM at work within you, reaching out to swim through a stagnant segment of ego. Pride is a fixed sense of separation—an inner conviction that you must earn your own security. The swimmer's gesture is the inner technique by which consciousness moves toward a higher current. When the I AM acts, it spreads its hands in the middle of the old picture and, by the law of feeling, unsettles the grip of pride and its spoils. The spoils are not enemies to conquer but outward gains you believe you own because you identify with that pride. As the inner Self dissolves that identification, the outward world loses its sudden power and falls back into balance. This is the promise of the prophecy: you are invited back to righteousness and justice by a simple shift of state, not by punishment, and the exile of ego becomes a return to the Self.
Practice This Now
Sit quietly, breathe, and assume you already inhabit the higher I AM. Feel the inner hands outstretched in the middle of your old picture; imagine pride dissolving and the spoils fading, and softly affirm, I AM that I AM.
