Biblical Context
Isaiah 25:10–12 describes the inner mountain where the Lord’s hand rests and a mind’s false fortresses are trodden down. It speaks of dissolving pride and the fortress of self as the true movement of awareness.
Neville's Inner Vision
On the inner plane this text says: the mountain is your present state of consciousness where I AM is at rest. Moab, the prideful appetite and fixed walls of your former self, is trodden under the truth of your awareness, not by a judgment from without but by your own recognition that the self you defend is only a dream. When you imagine the hand of the Lord resting in the midst of you, you invite a movement of awakening—your attention spreads like a swimmer diving into clear waters, not to conquer others but to dissolve the pride that prevents you from recognizing yourself as I AM. The glory of your imagined fortress—the high fort of walls you call security—will be brought down, laid low, and reduced to dust by the quiet power of consciousness acknowledging its unity with all. In this vision, the external forms are simply symbols of internal habits; as you dwell in the inner mountain, the perceived threats and defenses disappear, and the kingdom of God becomes your lived awareness.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume you are now on the mountain; feel the hand of the Lord resting on your chest. Revise any belief in defense by declaring, 'I am the I AM, and this fortress is dissolved.'
