Tarshish Howl, Inner Return
Isaiah 23:6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Isaiah 23 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Isaiah calls the inhabitants to move over to Tarshish and howl, signaling a boundary-crossing moment. The line shows how outward events reflect inner states and the potential for inner change.
Neville's Inner Vision
To Neville, Tarshish is a state of consciousness you enter by assumption. 'Pass ye over' means shift your focus of awareness from the old scene to a new, imagined one. The 'howl' is the ego’s fuss when you try a new belief; the 'isle' represents the fixed self you leave behind. When you accept that all you see is your imagining, you can choose a new port of mind and feel the wish fulfilled there, letting that image govern your life. The verse invites you to be both observer and creator: witness the leaving, then inhabit the landing you imagine, and life will follow the inward change.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume you are already on Tarshish, living from your desired self. Hold that feeling as real and let it guide your next choice.
