Inner Key and Nail of Authority
Isaiah 22:22-23 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Isaiah 22 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
It speaks of a bearer of authority who can open and shut doors of the kingdom. It also pictures being fixed like a nail in a secure place, becoming a throne for the family.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within your inner language, the 'key' and the 'nail' signify your dominant state of consciousness. God says, I place the key of the house of David upon your shoulder, meaning your I AM presence becomes the authority through which doors are opened or closed by your ruling imagination. When you assume a state that cannot be shut or opened by circumstance—when you feel certain and fixed, as the nail fastened in a sure place—you anchor a throne within your own house, your Father's house, where your true kingship resides. This is not about external events but about your inner alignment: a single, continuous decision of consciousness that there is nothing outside your awareness that can override your belief. The language of 'glorious throne' points to the elevated state you occupy when you permit your imagined state to rule. Each act of imagining creates a door in reality; your job is to remain faithful to the state you desire until it becomes your felt reality. Trust the I AM as the authority, not the fluctuating appearances.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Place your hand on your shoulder, and affirm, 'I am the key; I open what is mine and I shut what is not.' Hold that feeling long enough to see a door swing open in your imagination and feel yourself seated on the throne of your own consciousness.
