Tema's Refuge: Inner Hospitality

Isaiah 21:14 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Isaiah 21 in context

Scripture Focus

14The inhabitants of the land of Tema brought water to him that was thirsty, they prevented with their bread him that fled.
Isaiah 21:14

Biblical Context

The verse depicts Tema's people giving water to a thirsty man and bread to one who fled, illustrating compassionate hospitality toward strangers.

Neville's Inner Vision

In the inner theater of your mind, Tema is a state of consciousness, a land where thirst and flight are recognized and met. The thirsty man represents a desire longing for sustenance, the part of you that knows not yet the fullness of being. The one who fled is fear or lack that has run from awareness. When you imagine water poured for the thirsting self and bread shared with the fleeing self, you are not offering charity to a distant land; you are awakening the I AM that you truly are—consciousness that nourishes and shelters. The act is already done in spirit; by feeling it real and holding the image, you align your inner atmosphere with abundance. Mercy becomes a habit of mind, a continuous posture toward every aspect of yourself seeking life. The simple law here: generosity to the other inside you creates peace within, and by blessing the refugee you invite the whole self to dwell as one I AM.

Practice This Now

Assume in imagination that you are the land of Tema: pour water for the thirst and share bread with the fleeing part of you, then rest in the felt sense that I AM already nourishes all.
