Isaiah 20:6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Isaiah 20 in context

Scripture Focus

6And the inhabitant of this isle shall say in that day, Behold, such is our expectation, whither we flee for help to be delivered from the king of Assyria: and how shall we escape?
Isaiah 20:6

Biblical Context

The inhabitants say they expect help from outside and wonder how they will escape. The passage highlights reliance on external refuge rather than inner certainty.

Neville's Inner Vision

Your verse speaks in the language of outer refuge, yet the true deliverer is the I AM within. The inhabitant is your present state of consciousness on an imagined isle, and the king of Assyria is any problem that you fear will overwhelm you. If you remain fixed in the belief that relief comes from outside, you keep re-enacting separation and doubt. Neville teaches that all power is within awareness; to escape the sense of danger, you must revise the scene in imagination and feel it as already accomplished. Begin with the assumption that you stand in the presence of the Deliverer now, not in a distant future. Declare with certainty, "I am delivered; my refuge is the I AM within me." Dwell in that assurance until the feeling of safety floods your being, and notice how the imagined threat loses its grip. As you persist in this inner reality, the outer circumstance will align with your inner state, guiding you toward wiser discernment and renewed trust in providence.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and revise the scene from 'how shall we escape' to 'I am delivered now.' Sit with the feeling until it becomes real.
