Inner Refuge in Isaiah 2:19
Isaiah 2:19 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Isaiah 2 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse shows people seeking shelter in rocks and caves out of reverent fear of the LORD's coming. It signals the inner upheaval that occurs when God's majesty arises.
Neville's Inner Vision
All you read in Isaiah 2:19 is a mirror of your inner life. The holes of the rocks and caves of earth are inner states you retreat to when the I AM within seems about to awaken. The fear of the LORD is not dread of punishment but the consciousness that God is here now—the awareness that you are that majesty. When the verse says, 'and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth,' it is telling you that as you lift your attention into the one Presence, the old structures of limitation begin to tremble and fall away. The world you considered solid is moving because you are shifting states. The external tumult mirrors inner consolidation: you are re-identifying with the Lord of your life. Practice knowing that you are not moving toward God, but waking to God who already dwells as your own I AM. Your task is to persist in an inner posture where majesty arises, and the rocks (your old beliefs) yield to the new foundation of being.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Assume the state 'I AM' now; visualize stepping from a cave into a brilliant inner light and feel fear dissolve as majesty fills you. Repeat the phrase 'The Lord is my refuge' until it feels real.
