Mercy Rules Isaiah 16:5-6
Isaiah 16:5-6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Isaiah 16 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Mercy establishes the throne, truth sits on it in David’s tabernacle, and judgment moves swiftly toward righteousness; Moab’s pride and wrath are exposed as lies.
Neville's Inner Vision
From the inner vantage, the throne is not a place among men but the state of your consciousness where mercy, truth, and justice live. 'In mercy shall the throne be established' means you awaken to a state where compassion governs every seeing and decision. The 'tabernacle of David' is your inner sanctuary, the seat of divine remembrance that you can return to in quiet. When you sit there, judgments become not punishment but alignment— you seek judgment and hasten righteousness by aligning your thoughts with truth. The pride of Moab stands as a belief in separateness and image-keeping, a voice within that declares 'I am better, I am separate' and thus creates tension and false outcomes. But that voice is not firm; its lies cannot endure when your awareness chooses mercy and truth. The inner movement shifts; as you dwell in this royal state, your feelings of resentment, haste, or judgment soften and crystallize into fair, loving discernment. Your world then reflects a ruling mercy rather than posturing pride. Remember: the throne exists wherever you hold the I AM consciously.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit in a quiet space, close your eyes, and imagine a throne inside your chest. Assume the posture of the I AM seated there, declare 'Mercy and Truth govern me,' and revise any pride by affirming 'I choose compassionate discernment now' while you feel the truth of it.
