Inner Reversal: Isaiah 14:2

Isaiah 14:2 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Isaiah 14 in context

Scripture Focus

2And the people shall take them, and bring them to their place: and the house of Israel shall possess them in the land of the LORD for servants and handmaids: and they shall take them captives, whose captives they were; and they shall rule over their oppressors.
Isaiah 14:2

Biblical Context

Plainly, the verse foresees a reversal: a people take back their power. They possess those who once held them and rule over the past oppressors in the land of the LORD.

Neville's Inner Vision

Think of this as an inner law: the 'people' are states of consciousness and the 'land of the LORD' is the field of awareness I inhabit. Captives and oppressors are my fears, habits, and remembered setbacks. When I awaken to the I AM that I am, the internal field shifts. I now 'possess' them not by domination over others, but by dominion over my inner climate: I refuse to entertain fear's tale and assume the feeling of sovereignty. The reversal occurs as I anchor myself as the ruler in my mental kingdom; old captives become servants of my self-mastery and oppressors become reminders that I once believed in limitation. The verse then invites me to deliverance through imagination, not force: trust that awareness can reverse the script and cast bondage as memory. Practice this inward revolution now by resting in the I AM and imaging the mind as a cleared throne room, where every thought serves truth.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Sit in quiet, assume the feeling 'I AM' sovereign now, and revise a memory of oppression by declaring, 'From this moment, I rule over my thoughts.'
