Babylon Within: Inner Kingdom Realization
Isaiah 13:19-22 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Isaiah 13 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Babylon’s glory and the beauty of kingdoms are overturned and left desolate. The text pronounces that it will never be inhabited again.
Neville's Inner Vision
Picture Babylon as an outer city, yes, but in the Scriptural weather it is the inner city of your own consciousness—the built-up pride, the shifting sands of external security. The judgment that falls on Babylon is not a history lesson; it is a symbolic invitation to awaken. When you cling to a vision of yourself as separate from ultimate life, your inner house becomes like that desert: abandoned, full of doleful creatures, shadows dancing where once there was light. Yet the moment you reverse the assumption—accept that the I AM is the only reality, and that your world must reflect this inner truth—the desolation dissolves. The ‘wild beasts’ and ‘dragons’ are only thoughts, fears, and habits that have taken up residence in your mind; they vanish as you assume a new state of consciousness. Time itself is a measure of your inner state; when you settle into the unwavering awareness of the I AM, your days begin to be prolonged by nothing but your acceptance of a greater kingdom within.
Practice This Now
Assume the I AM as your dominant state and revise Babylon into an inner, thriving city. Feel it real for several minutes, letting that inner state echo outward as your new reality.
