Neville's Inner Vision
I see in this verse the language of nations as a symbol of states of consciousness. The 'Philistines,' the 'Edom,' the 'Moab,' and the 'Ammon' are not distant rivals but facets of your own mind—fears, attachments, and conditioned habits. The promise that 'they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines toward the west' is an invitation to rise above every old limitation by resting in the I AM, the one true power you are. When you acknowledge your essential self, these troublesome energies are carried off the stage, moving toward the horizon, powerless to restrain your current action. The act of 'laying their hand upon Edom and Moab' represents reclaiming the stubborn elements of your nature—habits you once believed governed you—and placing them under the sovereignty of your higher consciousness. And 'the children of Ammon shall obey them' expresses the obedience of lesser thoughts to the central truth you have chosen. The Kingdom of God is the present, inner state you hold and reinforce with imagination. When you dwell in this state, peace and order flow outward, aligning relationships and occasions with your realized awareness.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the feeling, 'I AM the conqueror of all inner opposition.' Feel it real as you rise above the old fears and let that higher self govern the scene—then observe your inner world reorganize to match this truth.
