Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
A Rod and Branch arise from Jesse, with the Spirit of the LORD resting on him—wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge, and the fear of the LORD. He judges with righteousness for the meek, not by appearances, and his words cut through error; righteousness and faithfulness gird his loins.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within you now, the rod and Branch appear as a state of consciousness. The Spirit of the LORD resting upon you is the felt sense of wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge, and the fear of the LORD, all aligned as one streaming heart. This is not a distant person but your inner governor, judging not by appearances or by the noise of ears and eyes, but by the truth of your awareness. When you choose to act with righteousness toward the meek and the poor of your life, you set the standard for your world; the rod of your mouth is the spoken word that clarifies and cuts away error, while the breath of your lips establishes what is just. The girdle of righteousness and the girdle of faithfulness are the steady wear of your imagination—steadfast, reliable, unwavering. By abiding in this state of consciousness, you awaken a kingly presence that governs with justice, and your world rearranges itself to reflect that inner order.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, assume the Branch is grown in you, and feel the Spirit resting on your daily decisions. Then revise one imminent choice so it already expresses justice and truth.
