Isaiah 10:24 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Isaiah 10 in context

Scripture Focus

24Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD of hosts, O my people that dwellest in Zion, be not afraid of the Assyrian: he shall smite thee with a rod, and shall lift up his staff against thee, after the manner of Egypt.
Isaiah 10:24

Biblical Context

The Lord tells Zion not to fear the Assyrian. Though the threat looms, trust in divine protection and deliverance.

Neville's Inner Vision

Be not afraid is not a command to cower before catastrophe, but a shift in consciousness. Zion represents the quiet awareness that the I AM is present, unchanged by shifting appearances. The Assyrian, with its rod and staff, embodies the thoughts of threat and limitation that seem to press upon you from the outside world. Neville’s method teaches us that such threats are not forces against you but images in a living mind. When you identify with the I AM, you realize you are not defined by fear but by the royal, unassailable presence within. The rod can only shake you if you imagine it as real; when you revise the scene with the certainty, 'I am free now', the force dissipates, replaced by peace, courage, and a clear sense of direction. Your inner state of assuredness alters the pattern of events. The passage invites you to trust Providence; to rest in the fact that the seeming foe is a sign to turn inward and affirm your true nature as consciousness. In that stillness, the deliverance you seek is already accomplished in imagination.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Close your eyes and assume, 'I am the I AM, free and unafraid now.' Then revise the scene by mentally canceling the threat, and feel it real in your chest as unshakable calm.
