Inner City Judgment
Isaiah 1:21-23 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Isaiah 1 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage shows a once-just city sinking into corruption, where wealth corrupts truth, leaders betray justice, and the vulnerable are neglected.
Neville's Inner Vision
Your inner city is a state of consciousness; when it becomes a harlot, it's because judgment has hardened into critique and righteousness sits idle within you. The verse speaks of silver turned to dross and wine watered, a metaphor for thoughts and desires diluted from truth and purity. Your inner rulers—your princes—have turned rebellious, chasing gifts and rewards rather than justice for the fatherless and widow; this is not a condemnation of persons but a symbol of your own misaligned faculties. In Neville’s key, the so-called outward scene is a mirror of your inner world. The call is not punishment but a revision—the I AM within you is unchanging and pure; you simply forgot to be aware of it. When you assume the feeling of that truth, you begin to restore the city: justice is lodged in you again; greed loses its hold; compassion becomes your governance. As you hold the original demand—no more bribes from your attention; no more neglect of the vulnerable—your inner kingdom is renewed, and the outer world reflects your restored balance.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and anchor in I AM. Revise the scene by affirming: 'Righteousness lodges in me now; my inner rulers govern with justice and mercy.'
