Oven Fire Within
Hosea 7:7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Hosea 7 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse portrays a people whose outer rulers are consumed by heated passion; their judges are devoured, and their kings have fallen, with no one calling to the divine.
Neville's Inner Vision
In the inner scripture, 'they' are not nations alone but states of consciousness. The oven is the fever of fear, craving, and opinion that burns away discernment—the judges you once trusted to judge your thoughts. Your judges become devoured by the fire of assertion and control, and the 'kings'—the executive powers of mind—collapse under pressure from appetite and fear. When no one calls to me, it signals a mind that has forgotten the I AM, the inner awareness that sustains all, and so external authority seems to reign. But this is not punishment; it is a diagnostic. The remedy is simple and immediate: reverse the movement. Assume the feeling of the I AM as the living ruler within, and call upon it now. Rest in the awareness that you are the I AM, not the servant of belief or circumstance. In imagining the inner king revived—calm, quiet, and attentive—you reverse the fiery heat and awaken a kingdom that governs from within. Your external results reflect this inward state, not the other way around.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes; place your attention at the center of your chest as the I AM; silently repeat 'I am' and call on the I AM to govern your mind
