Hosea 7:11-12 Inner Nets
Hosea 7:11-12 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Hosea 7 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage portrays Ephraim as a heartless dove chasing protection through Egypt and Assyria, and warns that such alliances invite divine chastisement.
Neville's Inner Vision
Notice how the words place every choice in the inner arena of consciousness. Ephraim’s dove, fluttering without a heart, represents a mind fixed on outer security—calling to Egypt, going to Assyria—not in reality but in belief. The 'net' spread when they move corresponds to the inner net of fear and desire that wraps around the attention when you yield to external powers. When you identify your safety with governments, treaties, or social favors, you invite a chastisement—the universe contracts to reveal the misalignment between your present identity and your higher I AM. The congregation you hear is the echoed belief of the collective mind that supports such alliances. Yet the truth remains: the power to bless or bind is within you, in the I AM that cannot be content with appearances. The invitation is to repent in the sense of turning attention back to inner sovereignty, not to seek another political sponsor. By realizing you are always the author of your reality, you can erase the need for nets and rest in the unshakeable presence of the I AM.
Practice This Now
Imitate: assume you are the I AM; when the impulse rises to call to 'Egypt' or 'Assyria' for security, revise aloud: 'I am secure in the I AM now.' Feel it real by resting your hand on your heart and repeating the affirmation until the body settles into quiet confidence.
