Hosea 5:3 Inner Covenant Within

Hosea 5:3 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Hosea 5 in context

Scripture Focus

3I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hid from me: for now, O Ephraim, thou committest whoredom, and Israel is defiled.
Hosea 5:3

Biblical Context

God says He knows Ephraim and Israel, and that their current infidelity and defilement are evident. It speaks to the inner state of loyalty, not merely outward geography or ritual.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within Hosea, Ephraim and Israel are not distant lands but states of consciousness. The phrase 'not hid from me' is a teaching that the I AM—your true self—perceives every inner movement. The 'whoredom' spoken of is not only a historical stain but the mind’s restless chase after images, idols, and outward performances that defile the sense of self. When you fix attention on rituals, status, or external gods, you unconsciously violate the covenant you already are. The inner covenant remains constant; it is your essential identity waiting to be acknowledged. The healing instruction is to revise the inner state through a simple act of assumption: claim loyalty to the inner covenant here and now, and dwell in that recognition until it and its feeling become real. Remember: imagination creates reality, and your awareness is the God within that sees all. By shifting your consciousness to the I AM, you convert defilement into a purified sense of self.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Close your eyes and assume the I AM, loyal to the inner covenant; feel that reality right now. Let that feeling supplant every competing image until your outer life reflects the calm fidelity within.
