Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse states that the conditions of the people and their priests mirror each other, with divine consequence meted out to their ways and doings.
Neville's Inner Vision
From the Neville perspective, Hosea announces not a distant punishment but the immediate enactment of your inner state in your world. 'Like people, like priest' means the whole atmosphere you inhabit—your thoughts, feelings, and beliefs—draws forth those who play the roles you imagine. When fear, blame, or harsh judgment dominates your inner life, the outer acts and leaders align with that mood, and you experience reward or punishment as the natural return of your inner sense. God becomes the I AM you identify with, the awareness that imagines; your priest and your people are but the two faces of one consciousness looking into the same mirror. If you wish to alter the scene, alter the image in you. The law of consciousness says you must assume a new state, feel the reality of harmony and responsibility, and let that feeling saturate the day. The outer world will follow as a faithful echo of the inner governor you now entertain.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the state of inner unity with your I AM. Silently declare: 'I am the cause; this scene reflects my inner state,' then feel the certainty and responsibility as if it were already true.
