Inner Strife, Spiritual Renewal
Hosea 4:4-5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Hosea 4:4-5 condemns ongoing quarrel and reproach among the people, who are likened to those who strive with the priest. It warns that judgment will fall during the day and the night.
Neville's Inner Vision
To me, Hosea's warning is not about external factions but about the state of consciousness in which I live. The quarrel with the priest mirrors my own argument with the living awareness I call I AM. When I insist on reproof, I align with a split mind: the day of waking light and the night of subconscious fear are born of a belief in separation. The 'mother' I would destroy stands for the old self-image that must be defended or corrected, not the decree of God. Yet the moment I surrender the need to prove reality through strife, I am faithful to the one inner ruler, and the day and night unite in one I AM. The prophet and the priest in Hosea reflect the two aspects of consciousness—command and listening—when I revise my state rather than resist it. If I dwell in true awareness, the attacks disappear, for I am no longer in conflict with my own inner authority. Thus, reconciliation writes the script: harmony is already present, awaiting my assumption.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit quietly, assume the state 'I AM peace now.' Then feel it real until the scene of strife dissolves and harmony remains.
