Biblical Context
Israel endures a long period without outward kingly or priestly symbols, then turns back to seek the LORD and their king, David, within. This marks a shift from external form to inner reality.
Neville's Inner Vision
In the language of the I AM, the people are not waiting for a throne somewhere on earth, but for the awakening of the king within. The verse speaks of a time when outward forms—the king, the prince, the sacrifice, the image, the ephod, the teraphim—are absent. Such absence is not punishment but a clearing of the channel, so that your consciousness can realize what has always been true: God is your awareness, and you are that expression. The 'return' to seek the LORD and David their king is the inner decision that you will stop looking outward for power and privilege and begin listening to the still small voice within—the I AM that loves you and rules through your thoughts. The latter days are not some distant epoch but the present moment when the heart acknowledges God’s goodness and the kingly order of your life shifts from mere survival to living in alignment with divine rule. Fear dissolves as you dwell in that presence; your life becomes a reflection of the King’s reign, not of external ritual.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the feeling of inner kingship now. Imagine a throne within you where the I AM sits, and declare to yourself, 'God is my king and I am that king now.'
