Biblical Context
Hosea 2:18-20 speaks of a divine covenant ending warfare and a lasting betrothal that anchors righteousness, lovingkindness, mercies, and faithfulness, so the people come to know the LORD. It invites an inner alignment rather than external ritual.
Neville's Inner Vision
Viewed through the I AM, the covenant is an inner climate more than an external contract. The beasts, birds, and creeping things are symbols of restless thoughts and fears that gnaw at your peace when you forget who you are. When the text says I will break the bow, the sword, and the battle out of the earth, it speaks of disarming your mind’s battles by awakening to the one Presence within—the I AM. The betrothal is an inner vow—a decision to align your sense of self with divine order forever, not as ritual but as permanent state of consciousness. In righteousness, judgment, lovingkindness, and mercies you cultivate qualities that reflect Heaven inside: clear discernment, just actions, boundless compassion, and mercy toward all—especially toward yourself. Faithfulness is steadiness—knowing the LORD is present as your I AM and not a distant deity. When you inhabit this inner covenant, your outer life follows the peace you hold, and knowledge of the LORD becomes a lived, growing awareness.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Close your eyes and assume you are already betrothed to the LORD; feel safety replacing fear. Rest in the awareness that you know the LORD.
