Read Hosea 14 in context

Scripture Focus

3Asshur shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses: neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, Ye are our gods: for in thee the fatherless findeth mercy.
4I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him.
Hosea 14:3-4

Biblical Context

Hosea 14:3-4 invites turning away from reliance on external idols and power, recognizing that mercy comes from God, and promises healing of backsliding as divine love restates the self in awareness.

Neville's Inner Vision

In Hosea, the cry not to rely on Asshur or the works of our hands is a call to a deeper allegiance to the I AM within. This is a shift in consciousness, not merely a change of worship. When I accept that I am the I AM, I dissolve the belief in external saviors and align with the one Life that sustains me. The 'fatherless' aspect of self finds mercy not through fear, but through a vivid assurance of divine presence. The anger that once gnawed at the heart is turned away as I dwell in the mercy that is freely given by my own awakened awareness. Healing of backsliding becomes the natural outcome of returning to inner relationship with God, not earning favor but stepping into the truth that I am loved and protected by the Infinite. The external threats recede as I realize salvation arises from within, where I AM is the only power that saves, heals, and sustains me in perfect harmony.

Practice This Now

Imaginative_act: Sit quietly, declare, "Asshur shall not save me; I am the I AM within." Feel the release as external idols lose their grip and the interior mercy floods your being; rest in this awareness and let healing move through your consciousness.
