Desolation as Inner State
Hosea 13:16 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Hosea 13 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Samaria is described as desolate because she rebelled against her God. The passage warns of devastating consequences for turning away from divine order.
Neville's Inner Vision
Desolation here is not a future punishment but a signal of the inner state that happens when consciousness forgets its oneness with the I AM. In Neville's own language, the world is a mirror of the mind: when the inner man doubts the divine governing presence, the outer scenes reflect it as desolation, struggle, and loss. The remedy is not coercion of events but a revising of belief: assume that the I AM is supreme, that you are rooted in an unassailable, eternal presence. See the rebel part in you as a mistaken thought, not a fixed fact, and imagine that the inner God-seed is unscathed and sovereign. By dwelling in the feeling of the I AM—there and now—you reorganize the life around you, and the desolation dissolves as new alignment is felt.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and rest in the feeling I AM, repeating I am the I AM until it feels natural. Revise the inner picture from desolation to a thriving inner kingdom, and notice the outer life aligning.
