Hosea 13:10-12 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Hosea 13 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
God declares He will be king over all cities, signaling that external rulers cannot save you. The text also speaks of Ephraim's sin hidden within, pointing to inner conditions rather than outward judgment.
Neville's Inner Vision
In Hosea 13:10-12, the people cry for kings and judges, but the divine voice answers I will be thy king. The cities and princes symbolize the outer structures you lean on; yet the passage reveals that true salvation comes from the inner state of consciousness, not from political or social arrangements. When you feel abandoned by earthly authorities, notice the friction arising in your own awareness and realize that God's throne exists within your own I AM. The line I gave thee a king in mine anger, and took him away in my wrath can be read as the retreat of external power when you awaken to your own supreme authority. The iniquity bound up and sin hid points to unresolved belief hidden within. By turning attention inward, you bring the hidden to light, and your inner king asserts His rule. In Neville's method, you do not fight the world; you revise your assumption of separation until the feeling of kingship is present here and now. As you dwell in this awareness, the outer conditions loosen and reveal their true origin in consciousness.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Assume the state I AM king of my life and feel it real until it becomes your immediate experience. Then revise any belief in external salvation by repeating There is no savior outside my I AM.
