Dwelling in the Inner Tabernacle

Hosea 12:9-11 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Hosea 12 in context

Scripture Focus

9And I that am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt will yet make thee to dwell in tabernacles, as in the days of the solemn feast.
10I have also spoken by the prophets, and I have multiplied visions, and used similitudes, by the ministry of the prophets.
11Is there iniquity in Gilead? surely they are vanity: they sacrifice bullocks in Gilgal; yea, their altars are as heaps in the furrows of the fields.
Hosea 12:9-11

Biblical Context

God proclaims restoration for Israel in a tent-like, portable presence with Him, while denouncing vain external sacrifices; visions from prophets point to inner truth over ritual.

Neville's Inner Vision

Think of Hosea’s words as a doorway into your own consciousness. The LORD thy God is not a distant deity but the I AM within you, the awareness that can be carried wherever you are. The land of Egypt represents the old sense of self you have left behind; to be led to dwell in tabernacles is to maintain a portable, ever-present posture of worship—an inner shelter that shifts with your thought, not a fixed ceremony. The prophets, multiplied visions, and similitudes are your inner pictures rising from imagination, guiding you back to your true state. Is there iniquity in Gilead? notion of error in belief? Certainly; vanity arises when you rely on exterior sacrifices, or on forms outside your awareness. Gilgal’s altars becoming heaps in the furrows of the field show that external rites crumble when consciousness remains unupdated. The reinterpretation is simple: restoration comes by turning inward, by assuming the tent of awareness as your reality and letting the visions of God—your inspired ideas—dominate your experience. You are not a spectator of history; you are the living I AM, author of every event.

Practice This Now

Assume the feeling: I dwell in the tabernacle now. Visualize yourself inside a simple tent of awareness, carrying a lamp of consciousness; revise any belief that ritual is the sole value of worship.
