Inner Scales of Deceit
Hosea 12:7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Hosea 12 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse describes a man whose trade rests on deceitful scales and a love of oppression. It exposes how the pursuit of external wealth can become a tool of domination.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within every reading of Hosea 12:7, the merchant and the scales stand not in a marketplace, but in the chamber of your own consciousness. The 'he' is your present state of mind that trusts worldly measurement—profits, appearances, ledgers—more than the I AM you are. The balances of deceit point to inner judgments that weigh people and events by gain or loss, whispering that coercion and oppression are necessary to secure a future. Yet the truth you awaken to through imagination is different: all such measuring is a belief in lack. When you accept the I AM as ruler of your inner economy, you reverse the operation: wealth becomes provision flowing from consciousness, not coercion from others. The oppressor’s power dissolves as you cease favoring appearances and align with fairness, generosity, and just measure. In this moment you are the sovereign who can overhaul the ledger by imagining a world where every exchange embodies justice and care, and where the scales balance with truth rather than domination.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Close your eyes and declare, I AM the balance; I revise the inner ledger to reflect justice and care. Then imagine a soft, golden scale that tips toward fairness in every exchange and feel that reality as real.
