Hosea 11:1-2 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Hosea 11 in context

Scripture Focus

1When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.
2As they called them, so they went from them: they sacrificed unto Baalim, and burned incense to graven images.
Hosea 11:1-2

Biblical Context

God describes loving Israel as a child and calling them out of Egypt; but the people turned to Baalim and burned incense to graven images.

Neville's Inner Vision

Think of Hosea 11:1-2 as an inner parable. Israel is the child-state of consciousness, loved by the I AM, called forth from the conditioning of 'Egypt'—the mind's trance of limitation. When the child awakens to love, the high call is to live from the awareness that you are the son (or daughter) of God, not defined by external symbols. Yet as long as you listen to the outer voice, you go after Baalim—the pictures of power and reward you project—burning incense to graven images of control and fear. The movement from calling to departure is the inward movement of repentance: a turning back to the one state of consciousness in which you know you are loved, free, and never bound by the appearances of matter. The key is to recognize that these idol images lack the life of the I AM; they are only the mind’s attempts to feel secure. By revising your inner image—acknowledging the unconditional love and assuming the state of its truth—you dissolve the images and reveal true worship: alignment with God within.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, and state, 'I am the beloved of God, called now out of every Egypt.' Sit in that feeling until it registers as your real state and watch the outer scenes align.
